Umrah is a sacred pilgrimage to the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is a deeply spiritual journey that allows Muslims to seek Allah's mercy, forgiveness, and countless blessings. Although it is not obligatory like Hajj, performing Umrah is a highly rewarding act of worship and an opportunity to strengthen your relationship with Allah.
Before reaching the Miqat (designated boundary), pilgrims must enter the state of Ihram by:
"Labbayka Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayka La Sharika Laka Labbayk. Innal Hamda Wan Ni'mata Laka Wal Mulk, La Sharika Lak."
Continue reciting the Talbiyah until reaching Masjid al-Haram.
Upon entering Masjid al-Haram, begin Tawaf by circling the Holy Kaaba seven times in an anti-clockwise direction, starting from the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad). During Tawaf, glorify Allah, recite Qur'an, and make sincere duas.
After completing Tawaf, if possible, offer two Rak'ahs of prayer behind Maqam Ibrahim. If the area is crowded, you may pray anywhere within Masjid al-Haram.
Drink the blessed Zamzam water and make heartfelt duas, asking Allah for forgiveness, guidance, health, and success in this life and the Hereafter.
Walk between the hills of Safa and Marwah seven times, beginning at Safa and ending at Marwah. During Sa'i, remember Allah, recite duas, and reflect upon the patience and trust of Hajar (AS).
To complete the Umrah:
After cutting or shaving the hair, your Umrah is complete, and you leave the state of Ihram. You may now resume your normal activities while continuing to make the most of your time in the Holy Cities through prayers, Qur'an recitation, Dhikr, and additional acts of worship.
May Allah ﷻ accept your Umrah, forgive your sins, answer your prayers, and grant you a safe, peaceful, and spiritually uplifting pilgrimage. Ameen.
